The students at the Technical College for Design were exploring the topic of design classics in class. While searching for an interesting object in a magazine on Scandinavian design, Paula came across a vehicle that immediately caught her attention: the Saab 900.

“I was instantly thrilled,” Paula says. “The shape, the details—it was just something special. I knew right away: this is what I want to give my presentation on.”

In class, the students were given the opportunity to bring their design objects—if possible—in person. An opportunity Paula wanted to take advantage of.

And so a presentation turned into a real-life experience:

Matthias from SKANDIX stopped by in person and brought a very special Saab with him: an original 1991 Saab 900 “Monte Carlo” convertible, equipped with the legendary B202L engine.

This meant the students could not only see the design but also experience it firsthand.

The clean lines, functional design, and the typical Scandinavian blend of aesthetics and engineering were immediately apparent on the vehicle. Particularly impressive was how timeless the Saab 900’s design appears—a true example of why it is considered a classic today.

The class quickly turned into a lively discussion about form, function, and brand identity. Questions were asked, details were discovered, and connections were understood that often remain abstract on paper.

In the end, one thing stood out above all else:

Good design endures for decades—and makes the greatest impact when experienced up close.

This year, we had some very special highlights: a large number of rare NOS parts, which caused real “aha” moments for many visitors. Our range was complemented by a large selection of used parts, which were particularly popular with experienced mechanics.

Between coffee cups and radiator grilles, we had countless interesting conversations. We talked shop, laughed, gave advice—and, of course, searched for and found a part or two. It was also nice to see many familiar faces from previous years. This continuity and closeness to the scene is very important to us as a team—for us, Rosmalen is not just a trade fair, but a real reunion among friends.

Last Sunday, it was that time again: Motorworld Region Stuttgart was once more transformed into a hub for fans of Swedish vehicles for the popular “Alte Schweden” event. We at SKANDIX were also able to welcome numerous visitors to our own stand directly in front of the Legends Hall – and it was a great pleasure!

All about the turbo – highlights galore

This year's meeting focused entirely on legendary turbo models from Sweden. Whether Saab Turbo or Volvo Turbo – numerous vehicles impressively demonstrated what Swedish engineering has to offer in terms of boosting. The special exhibition in the Legends Hall was both fitting and impressive, bringing Swedish driving culture to life with fascinating vehicles and exciting stories. Among them was the Volvo 940 T6 with an impressive 588 hp and 699 Nm of torque, which thrilled visitors not only with its performance but also with its design as a drift racing machine.

Enthusiastic visitors and valuable discussions

This year, we presented selected new products from our range – especially for Volvo and Saab vehicles – directly in front of the Legends Hall. Our team was on hand to answer questions, engage in interesting technical discussions, and provide tips on spare parts, technology, and maintenance. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to talk to us! The many friendly encounters, personal feedback, and intensive exchange with our customers and community members were a real highlight for us. We are taking away lots of ideas and are delighted with the strong interest in our products and innovations.

In keeping with the theme “Modern technology in old Volvos”, we were able to show you our new products for classic and younger vehicles. We were also impressed by projects such as Vintage Volts. The team around Vintage Volts presented an authentic Volvo-Tesla hybrid based on an Amazon P220.

The variety of offers once again shows how much passion is behind the Volvo brand. With a successful mix of used parts and new products, the longevity of these vehicles is also ensured in the future.
