Press tool for the rear trailing arm bushings on the rear axle. Makes replacing the bushings much easier and avoids damage to the new bushings caused by improper pressing.
If these bushings are defective, in the worst case the rear axle will move back and forth several centimeters.
The support sleeve 1040781 is also absolutely necessary.
Service instructions:
The threads of pressing tools must be generously greased before first use to avoid damage to the tool.
Especially with these bushings, the old bushings must be checked carefully before pressing them out: Sometimes they were secured in their guide with welding points to prevent them from moving sideways; this was and still is common practice in many workshops.
Such welding points must be separated and ground down before pressing out, otherwise the pressing tool could be damaged.
