Rear axle spring accessories for Volvo 850, C70, S70, V70

Spring seats and the rubber rings of the spring pads are, by their very nature, parts that are exposed to considerable environmental influences. They are usually located in the direct splash zone and are literally bombarded by water, dirt and road salt all year round. In addition, there are thermal fluctuations and usually plenty of gaps where water and dirt can accumulate particularly well due to capillary action.

Nevertheless, they usually last as long as the car itself, or even longer, not least thanks to good care such as regular washing, especially in spring.

But then there are our particularly durable Volvo: When developing the 850 and S70/V70/C70 up to 2000, the designers must have had a premonition: They developed and manufactured the rear axle spring plates on both the body and the axle as a removable individual part. This is different for most vehicles and at least requires welding.

It's different for the Volvo 850 and its direct successor; all spring seats can simply be unscrewed and replaced with new parts if they are weakened by corrosion. With most cars, which last at least twice as long as the car itself, this occasionally happens. Admittedly, we know from our own experience that sometimes it is no longer “so easy” to unscrew them and can be accompanied by curses from the person doing it.

In order to ensure the long-term supply of the corresponding new parts, we have currently had the two lower spring seats for the front-wheel drive vehicles, which are different with and without Nivomats, as well as the upper spring seat and the upper spring support, reproduced.

The spring seats and the rubber ring are now available in our shop under the numbers listed below.

A tip for assembly based on our own experience: if you either paint or thoroughly wax the spring seats before assembly, they will last longer.
