New fuel gauges for Volvo 200 with carburetor engine

04.07.2025

Like other parts of the fuel system, the fuel sender is subject to considerable wear and tear with modern fuels. Ethanol content and the more environmentally friendly composition often cause parts that come into contact with fuel to corrode quickly.

This happens especially when a vehicle is stationary for long periods of time: the fuel undergoes chemical changes, alcohol content is broken down and even forms water content. These are ideal conditions for corrosion.

Nowadays, a 240 has achieved classic car status and can usually be kept indoors during the salty winter months. This prolongs the life of the bodywork and prevents screws from rusting, but it is not good for the fuel system. Tanks rust from the inside, the lines become clogged, and the fuel sender is sometimes reduced to fragments.

A fuel system in such a condition is not much fun and causes incorrect readings. If the lines or filters are badly clogged, it can also lead to the car breaking down.

Since we already had reproduced the fuel gauges for injection engines (1018107) and diesel engines (1027611), which are no longer available, the gauge for carburetor engines was almost a must for us, as the cover and sensor are the same.

A pleasant side effect is that we can now offer it at an even lower price.

The new fuel gauges for all Volvo 200 models with carburettors are now available in our shop under the number 1044448.

Suitable for all petrol engines with carburettor:

  • Volvo 240, 260, 262: models from 1978 onwards
