Strut bar for Volvo 200

15.11.2024

A strut bar is a classic way of making a self-supporting body more stable with MacPherson struts.

On the front axle, it not only ensures greater rigidity of the body in rallying, but the differences are also noticeable in normal road traffic. Steering precision is increased and camber remains more constant because the inner wings are less able to twist under the one-sided load in corners.

The Volvo 240 is still used today for motorsport purposes because of its balanced weight distribution and robustness. Especially in gravel rallies, it often lasts longer than more modern competitors.

So it was an obvious step for us to have the strut braces reproduced in the classic style. These are in two parts for the Volvo 240 and 260 and are bolted on both sides between the spring strut and the bulkhead.

The original design of our strut brace was installed in the Volvo 242GT from 1978 onwards.

The strut bar set is very easy to retrofit; neither drilling nor removal of chassis parts is required. The struts are galvanized for good corrosion protection.

The strut bar set is now available in our shop for more stability on Swedish gravel roads. Order now at 1020874.
