Carburettor SU HS6: Retrofit safe float chamber venting

A safety upgrade for your SU HS6 dual carburettor system is now available from SKANDIX.
With our set 1079790 you can upgrade the float chamber vent of SU HS6 carburettors to new float chamber covers with hose connections, where the fuel is drained off in a controlled manner via a drain hose in case of float chamber overflow.
In contrast to this, in some SU HS6 carburettors the float chamber ventilation is simply done through a small hole in the float chamber cap. Here, in the event of a carburettor overflow, the petrol runs over the carburettors and then drips onto the hot manifold and exhaust - fire hazard!
As a "side effect" of the conversion offered by SKANDIX, the formation of vapour bubbles is much less problematic and the larger bleed nipples do not clog so quickly.
Suitable for all classic Volvo models with B18 or B20 engine and SU HS-6 dual carburettor system, e.g:
