Despite great heat, we were allowed to welcome this year 145 cars on the new site, which, however, offered enough shady places. Among them also some Saabs, which are always welcome. Swedes stick together!

The meeting has become a fixed date in the calendar of many Volvo enthusiasts in Northern Germany and beyond. Almost all models were represented. Predominantly however the "historical" 444/544, Duetts, Amazons of any type and any number. Of course 144, 244/45, 164, P 1800/ES, 480, 740 were again very strongly represented!

As at the meetings of the last years, there was also a faithful replica of a Swedish police car. Of course, driver and co-driver appeared in style in original police uniforms.

All visitors could also enjoy the participation of a rare Volvo L3315 (Valp) from Kiel.

The majority of the participants came again from the 5 northern German states, but also Volvos from North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg were present. We were also very happy about the visit of our friends from Kolding (DK) (see below), Sweden and the Netherlands.

From our sponsor Zeltverleih Sievers from Schmalfeld a very generous tent - with a complete interior - was erected. Thus again a perfect possibility for catering and sufficient place for interesting technical discussions could be offered.

The catering offer was lively used from the start and offered a rich selection of grilled sausages, fresh coffee, home-baked cake and different, cooled soft drinks. Through the give-aways provided, lovingly packed welcome bags could be handed over to the arriving guests.

The Volvo-Stammtisch Schleswig-Holstein would like to thank especially the Wildpark Eekholt, which again offered us the opportunity to hold our event in this setting. Many thanks!

As a small thank you, the Volvo-Stammtisch Schleswig-Holstein has taken over from now on, an animal sponsorship. In the absence of a moose, we support the breeding and care of a white deer. With a visit of the game park looks nevertheless gladly once with our godchild past.

We very much hope that next year, by renting an additional area, we will again be able to sell parts to the usual extent.

Many hard-working helpers, also behind the scenes, took care of the good organization, the set-up, the parking lot instruction as well as the catering of the guests and thus contributed to the success of this event to a high degree. As a reward for this, we received many very positive comments from the visitors. We were very pleased about this!

"We will be back next year!" was often heard.

Another creative project that shows what you can do with a discarded Volvo 244 can be found at the Maker Faire, which takes place in Hanover in mid-August.

The Maker Faire crew invites you to get creative with an old Volvo using LEGO bricks

Several years ago, Daniel Rohlfing - director of the Maker Faire Germany - had the idea to buy a disused vintage car and turn it into a LEGO playground to produce a sustainable highlight for the Maker Faires. So in 2016, the Maker Faire crew bought an old Volvo 244, which was offered as a hobby car and was originally registered in France.

Even then, the car was no longer roadworthy, but it was far too good to be slaughtered. So, with a little love and a lot of LEGO plates, it was converted into an individual classic. For this purpose, many LEGO bricks were bought on the net, which are placed in two large boxes next to the car at every Maker Faire Hanover (and in the past also Berlin), so that you can let off steam creatively.

Every year, the Volvo inspires young and old alike and numerous funny creations have already been made, but they only ever lasted until Sunday evening. At every new Maker Faire, the Volvo is once again shiny and waiting for your ideas!

• 9. Maker Faire Hannover

The event is the result of a "hold my beer" situation of long-time friends from the scene with a corresponding network around the VOLVO brand. No sooner said than done, off we go with Volvos-am-See.

Welcome are all models and model years from classic to modern Volvo.

The idea behind it is quite simple. An annual "chill" Volvo Car Camp for the whole family with dogs and whatever else you want to bring along.

We deliberately looked for a traditional campsite "without bells and whistles" with nice hosts and excellent catering, so that the physical well-being is also taken care of.

The decision was very easy after we visited the campsite at the Glambecksee. It's just the right location by the lake and easy to reach.

After checking into the hotel, we immediately went to the La Ferte-Gaucher race track to set up the SKANDIX stand. The welcome by the Volvo Club members was very warm. After the set-up was done, a chat was held and then dinner was eaten together (note: it was a very short night).

The event started on 03.06.23 at 8:00 am in sunshine and 26°C. Volvo Club members and guests drove up in their Volvos at short intervals, so that the car park was finally well occupied. News was exchanged with music and good humour, then it was time to hit the track. The crowd was accordingly large. The "racers" had the opportunity to test the track several times. This was also well received. Philippe, a driver in a green 142 Volvo converted into a racing car with SKANDIX stickers and racing gear, gave "real chain". He races the Volvo all over France.

Food and drink were also provided. There was a wide choice of savoury and sweet finger food. The SKANDIX stand, where a small selection of spare parts novelties was presented, was well received. At 6 p.m. it was time to dismantle and pack up. Then it was time for the social part with good food and drink. At the beginning, Xavier Bourbon from the Volvo Club de France gave a speech. The sponsors and helpers were thanked and members were honoured in different categories (Note: It was again a very short night).

On Sunday around 9:00 am, culture was on the agenda. The sights of the medieval town of Provins were visited. Provins is located an hour from Paris and is one of the best preserved medieval towns in France. Every street corner is a reminder of the splendid times of the Counts of Champagne. Provins was one of the most important trans-shipment centres for goods in Europe. Clothiers from Flanders, spice traders from the Orient, poets and intellectuals met there.

Afterwards, we had lunch together and exchanged views until the end of the event. At around 2:30 p.m., the group disbanded and Alain headed back to Germany.

If you want to experience the 19 model years of the Volvo 200-series live, the annual meeting of enthusiasts of these models is exactly the right place: Everything that the Swedes had to offer with this classic in terms of variants and versions can be seen here.
With more than 50 vehicles, the 18th meeting took place on 17 June in Kleinlüder near Fulda, organised by the initiator Karsten Schwob in proven cooperation with Daniel Roth and other energetic 240/260 fans. As usual, it was held on the Hessenmühle meadow in a picturesque setting. The participants from all parts of Germany as well as several Volvo fans from the Netherlands and Luxembourg created a friendly togetherness across all borders and ensured the best atmosphere. The timeless elegance of the design, which was created on the basis of the 140 series in the mid-1970s, is still characteristic 30 years after the end of production and recognisable at first glance as a classic Volvo.

Many faces have been familiar for years - but new participants also come along and present their treasures, with vehicles appearing time and again that astonish the scene: for example, a "staid" 244 from the early years of the 80s - quasi new-car condition with just over 60 000 km. A former embassy vehicle, the loving care for which could be seen at first glance. In complete contrast to this, a vehicle whose speedometer has already passed the 1.5 million kilometre mark and is on the road as if it were a matter of course and whose million kilometre performance is not visible.

The model years, equipment and engines showed the whole variety: L, DL, GL as well as GLE, GLT and Turbo - from the 1.9 litre to the turbo and V6, everything was there. The orange or light yellow paintwork of the 1970s, which were considered safety colours at the time, contrasted in colour with the more discreet paintwork of the later models in fjord green, grey metallic or black.

Rims can create a special nuance: at this year's meeting there were even three different BBS versions with gold-coloured wheel spiders in cross-spoke design. Regardless of whether unchanged normal condition or "improvements" to the chassis and vehicle - the Volvo 200 participants showed great tolerance and appreciation for every participant who is proud of their individual Volvo. Spare, wear and special parts were offered at the compact parts market - many a bargain could be made here.

After the participants had arrived in the course of the morning, Karsten was able to open the meeting and hand over a gift box for each vehicle present, for which the sponsors had donated high-quality welcome giveaways. SKANDIX and Caramba showed their generosity, as did Pågen with its delicious cinnamon gifflar and Nordis with its latest edition. The rally sign, also sponsored by SKANDIX and coloured for the first time with a racing 242, was particularly well received.

After the distribution, the start signal was given for the drive through the picturesque Vogelsberg region, where the traditional coffee and cake break was held at Eisenbach Castle under shady trees. The weather was kind to everyone: temperatures over 30 degrees and a bright blue sky. In the evening, there was a cosy get-together and barbecue. At this meeting it was more of a barbecue show - the "cooking artists" at the new barbecues celebrated preparation and selection at its best. The Hessenmühle team once again lived up to its name. In the summery evening air there were many nice conversations about Volvo and beyond until dark at midnight. The next morning was then goodbye and a hearty goodbye in Sauensiek in northern Germany, when Karsten Schwob will invite to the 19th meeting. Special thanks go to Karsten and Christiane, who organise this meeting again and again with great commitment and dedication - as well as to all those who support them. Let's look forward to Sauensiek!

For the second time, the SAAB-Saturday, currently the largest day meeting for vehicles of the traditional SAAB brand, took place in and at the Agricultural Machinery Museum in Riesenbeck. In summery weather, almost 320 vehicles found their way to the meeting on Saturday, 3 June - a new record number of visitors!

The largest group consisting of 53 convertibles was provided by the "Saab Cabrio Groep" from the Netherlands, which arrived with an impressive convoy. In addition to many guests from the NRW and Lower Saxony area, numerous guests with longer journeys were also welcomed. SAAB owners from Saxony, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and Hesse did not miss the opportunity to travel to Riesenbeck. A big thank you goes to Carlos from Barcelona, who visited the meeting with his 900i Sedan. Stephen, a guest from Arizona (USA), also combined his tour of Germany with a visit to us. A big thank you to all participants!

As a highlight during the meeting, various Saabs are honoured and receive a trophy as well as a gift from our marketing and media partner SKANDIX. This year, we were able to award prizes to the following vehicles:

The Klassieker Beurs is interesting for every Volvo fan. Besides parts for classic cars you can also find more and more parts for the youngtimers like Volvo 850, 900, V70II and Co.

Apart from the parts, the visitors' car park alone is worth seeing, all models from the PV444 to the current XC40 Hybrid concentrated in one place is something you don't see every day. This is the perfect place for an extensive tour to look, compare, photograph and "talk petrol".

We exhibited a special highlight on our stand this year - the Volvo 744 XXL stretch limousine football table, which proved to be a real eye-catcher and invited visitors to play a game of football.

The fair was definitely a special experience again.

A special highlight was the small special show celebrating the 60th birthday of the Volvo Amazon Kombi Herrgårdsvagn. Six well-maintained P220s were presented and attracted a lot of interest. Thanks to the main sponsor Zeltverleih Sievers from Schmalfeld, a spacious tent - with a complete interior - was erected. This provided a perfect opportunity for catering and sufficient space for interesting technical discussions.
The company SKANDIX presented itself as another sponsor. The blue SKANDIX Beach Flags unerringly showed the visitors the way. The give-aways provided were handed over to the participants by a charming welcoming committee as they entered the grounds.
The Volvo-Stammtisch Schleswig-Holstein would like to thank the sponsors for their great support and the Wildpark Eekholt for giving us the opportunity to hold our event in this setting. Many thanks!

The catering offer in the new ambience was actively used right from the start and offered a rich selection of grilled sausages, fresh coffee, home-baked cakes and various soft drinks. Great praise is due to the barbecue team and the hard-working helpers at the counter! Supplies were ensured and the service was right from the first minute.

Volvo drivers could of course expect an especially obliging service. Parts sales from the boots were also buzzing. Many a long-sought part found a new, happy owner. Unfortunately, our friends from the Kolding Volvo Club could not attend this year, as their own meeting took place the day before. Next year we will surely visit each other's events again.

Many hard-working helpers, also behind the scenes, took care of the good organisation, the set-up, the briefing and thus contributed to a great extent to the success of this event. As a reward for this, the many positive comments from the visitors were gladly received. "We'll be back next year!" was often heard. The Volvo-Stammtisch expresses its thanks and is very pleased that this event is so extraordinarily positively received by all guests and that it has thus probably grown to become one of the largest private Volvo meetings in Germany.

It all started in 1972 when more than 300 teams of Europe's best rally sportsmen came together to compete in Germany's biggest rally event. Among them a certain Walter Röhrl and thus the start of the career of one of the greatest rally drivers.
It went from Kiel to Munich, 3400 km through Germany with only one overnight stay and over 60 special stages.

Now 50 years later, the legend awakens again. This time 197 teams with 42 different vehicle brands and 172 different vehicle types from 9 nations will start. This year, from 08.08. to 13.08.2022, approx. 2100 km will be covered in 48 hours of pure driving time and that within six days.

One fan described the whole thing as "a rolling classic car museum".

In fact, 10 participants from 1972 are taking part this year, including Walter Röhrl. This time, he is even competing with 4 different vehicles. The vehicles with which he won the Monte Carlo Rally 4 times and became World Champion twice.
Despite the vintage vehicles, the whole thing will certainly not be a coffee ride.

In addition, the original press bus from 1972 will be there again. This time, press representatives will be received here, where journalists were still typing press releases back then.

All in all, it will be a lot of fun, coupled with team spirit, sportsmanship, squealing tyres and a lot of adrenalin. A must for all classic car and rally fans or those who want to become one. A visit is definitely worthwhile.

When a small group of 200-series drivers gathered in Alzenau 17 years ago for the first meeting, no one expected that it would one day become an event that attracts a growing circle of enthusiasts of these classic cars from all over Germany and neighbouring countries to Sauensiek or Großenlüder-Kleinlüder in turn. In high summer heat, the 17th meeting was held in the normally cool north - summer sunshine galore was the order of the day on the green meadow, in the immediate vicinity of the natural swimming pool, where the participants could cool off.

About 60 vehicles of the 200 series came together - a happy reunion, because many of them have known each other for years. Karsten Schwob, the initiator, and Christiane put all their efforts into organising another great meeting. The first arrived on Friday and on Saturday morning the 240 and 260 arrived one after the other. A happy reunion and a warm welcome to new visitors. Practically all model years and bodywork versions were represented. In the sun, many shone almost like new cars, even though they already had 30, 40 or even more years under their belts. The mileage was also impressive: the 6-digit counters are really made for astronomical mileage. Also traditional was the parts market, which was carried along in the boot by machen - there was a lively exchange among the participants.

In the early afternoon, the "prize-giving" signal sounded on the grounds, which, as in previous years, was very fair: each participant received a welcome box, packed by Christiane's own hand with nice surprises from the sponsors, as well as a delicious Swedish greeting with cinnamon buns and practical multi-oil. An issue of Nordis whetted the appetite for Sweden and the North, which immediately provided tips for the next trip to Scandinavia. The coveted rally sign and a small Skandix moose - also made possible by the sponsors - were found on many vehicles right at the start.

Christiane had planned an excursion that led into the Stade countryside and invited us to a cosy forest café for a coffee break. The Dutch participants were immediately struck by the homely atmosphere: the Café Waldhuuske is run by a Dutch couple. The chairman and secretary of the 240-260 Register from Holland enjoyed the menu. After coffee and cake, the journey continued through beautiful countryside back to Sauensiek, where the grill was already in full use at Klindworth's Gasthof and the 200-strong congregation enjoyed a long evening in high spirits.

Several participants had turned the meeting into a weekend in the north and stayed in tents or guesthouses. So on Sunday morning after breakfast we could wave goodbye to many a 240 and 260 with its occupants. At this point, we would like to thank all the helpers for their efforts in setting up and dismantling, because banners, flutter tape markings and beach flags have to be placed. Especially those who are the first to arrive and the last to leave are active. The result is impressive: over 100 people, around 60 vehicles, 40 of them at the drive and a good 50 people at the barbecue buffet. Karsten and Christiane deserve a big thank you. Now they can both take a deep breath: the 18th meeting will again take place in the Fulda region - we can look forward to it!
