More than 275 vehicles at the traditional meeting of the Schleswig-Holstein Volvo Stammtisch
It was already the 18th meeting organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Volvo Stammtisch – and yet it was a premiere. Under the motto “Road meets rail,” the regulars' table held its event for the first time on the grounds of the Kulturlokschuppen in Neumünster.
“The move to the spacious grounds was well worth it. It was an all-round successful premiere with stable autumn weather and a great technical backdrop,” enthuses Ingo Pieplow, spokesperson for the Schleswig-Holstein Volvo Stammtisch since July. “Here we have the perfect setting for the largest privately organized Volvo meeting in Germany.”
And this year's largest meeting has become even bigger. After around 210 vehicles last year, this time more than 275 vehicles were counted, representing a model range spanning over 70 years: from the 1947 Volvo PV 60 to the 2020 V 90. The largest groups were the Amazons and the 200 series. Also in the spotlight were two rather exotic models celebrating milestone anniversaries this year – 40 years of the Volvo 780 and 50 years of the Volvo 66. Both series were represented in Neumünster with two models each. Other eye-catchers among the vehicles on display were an off-road C 303, a P 1800 convertible, and a stretch limousine from an embassy fleet based on the 200 series with right-hand drive.
Over the years, the meeting has developed a great appeal that extends far beyond the borders of Schleswig-Holstein: Vehicles from ten federal states came to Neumünster, as well as delegations from friendly Volvo clubs in Denmark and Sweden. And, as is tradition, a small Saab colony was also present. The “other Swedes” are always welcome guests at the Volvo Stammtisch Schleswig-Holstein.
Numerous petrolhead conversations, a small parts market, and delicious food with grilled sausages, coffee, and cake rounded off the successful event.
“We were curious to see how the new location would be received. And our optimistic expectations were once again far exceeded,” says Thomas Birkner, who organized this year's meeting together with Jens Pohle. “The consistently positive feedback from visitors confirmed that the decision to move to Neumünster was the right one. We immediately felt at home here and are already looking forward to the next edition in September 2026!”
