23.11.2021How to replace the windshield and the windshield seal at the Volvo PV444 or P445 Duett.
First remove the wiper arms.
Use an appropriate tool to pull them off the hub.
Remove all screws and washers from the inner window frame.
They look like this.
Take the inner frame out.
The sheet nuts are hold by wire brackets.
Release the brackets...
... and take them out.
To remove all screws holding the middle frame you have to take out the ashtray.
Unscrew them.
These are the screws reaching through the frame, holding the outer mouldings.
Take out the cover panel when no screws are left.
Attention! Do not scratch the painted dashboard.
The driver side is now cover-free.
When all parts of the inner frame are removed you can diassemble the outer middle cover.
Carefully cut along under the cover strip.
Do not destroy the rubber strip under the cover, it is not longer available.
Attention! Be careful around the middle bar, you may find a lot of sealant there. Remember not to damage the rubber, it is not longer available.
Now you can remove the old window seal. Therefore cut it in the middle around the window.
Rip off the cut outer part of the seal.
Now remove the seal from the middle bar.
Now push the window from the inside. it can stick very hard.
