23.11.2021How to replace the windshield and the windshield seal at the Volvo PV444 or P445 Duett.
Take the window out.
Now remove all sealant residues and seal the window frame.
The included seal is bulk ware and has to be customized. Here we have halved the seal and notched the end to adapt it to the seal on the middle bar.
It should look like this when the middle bar seal is attached to the outer window seal.
Example for complete customized seals. If the original seal was made of one piece is unknown.
Attach the seals to the windscreen halfs.
Lubricate the backside (chassis side) of the seals, (wheel mounting paste for example).
Insert the mounting ribbon into the notch later sitting on the body.
Leave a start loop at the bottom.
Put the windows half on the lower window frame and lift it towards the upper frame.
Helping hands press from the outside. From the inside grab your start loop and pull the seal over the outer corner. Now pull the seal to the middle bar.
On the other side follow the same procedure.
It is recommended to apply sealant all around the windscreen halfs. Specially the joints at the middle bar need to be sealed properly.
