Pump connection for return is angled at 90 degrees.

Because there are different suppliers; some pulleys that are pressed on, do not necessarily belong to the appropriate vehicle. They may needed to be replaced.

Service instructions:

There are special tools (1015331, 1015332, 1023144) for pulling and mounting the pulley.

Under no circumstances should the pump be placed under a hydraulic press to press on the pulley, otherwise it will be blown out of its housing at the back!
Thread in the pump shaft: M10

The original Volvo press-on tool has 3/8" thread! It can be screwed into the M10 thread, but then it is very loose and can fly out when the pulley is pressed on. The resulting kickback on the pump shaft can destroy the pump housing on the rear side!
