Tensioning Mechanism, Power Steering Pump, and Alternator for Volvo 700 and 900

The tensioning mechanisms for auxiliary components often become worn after high mileage. Sometimes only the tensioning screw is bent or broken, but the other threads—or even the tensioning arm—can also be damaged or broken.

Admittedly, this can certainly indicate inadequate maintenance. For example, rusty bolts that are tightened with too much force or, in general, excessive torque. However, excessive V-belt tension also puts a strain on the tensioning mechanism.

Due to the age of the 700 and 900 series, it unfortunately happens time and again that individual tensioning mechanisms are discontinued without replacement and are no longer available. As we have done in the past, we have these remanufactured as quickly as possible.

We have recently had the tensioners for the power steering pump on the B200 and B230 engines, as well as those for the alternator on the D24 engines from 1989 onward, remanufactured.

To ensure that the V-belts in your Volvo 700 or 900 series maintain their tension, our new tensioners are now available in our shop under the part numbers 1041328 and 1018611 in our online store.
