Cast drum in 1-parted design.

Note for Volvo PV444 and PV445 Duett until approx. 1957:
Original wheel lug bolts and nuts with right-hand thread were mounted on the left side of these models, on the right side with left-hand thread. New brake drums always have pre-assembled wheel bolts with right-hand thread, so you may need new wheel nuts.

Service instructions:

Check the wear of the brake drums regularly.

The inner diameter of the brake drum must not exceed 229 mm. Brake drums which have been ground too thinly can burst during emergency braking!

Measuring used drums can be difficult due to the edge formation caused by wear. If in doubt, replace the drum as a precaution.
According to Volvo's regulations, machining out brake drums with hollow grinding, scoring or cracked surfaces is not permitted.

Tip: Remove brake drums regularly and clean the inside of the brake system to prevent premature scoring by e.g. foreign objects.
