ATTENTION!

Some V40 models from 2013 onwards with the D4162T engine were delivered with aluminum brake discs (variant code RK08). These brake discs are no longer available and have been replaced by Volvo with standard steel brake discs (variant code RK01) (SKANDIX 1041244 / 1062971 / 1066555).

When converting to these discs, new brake pads (SKANDIX 1041249 / 1041249) and the mounting kit (SKANDIX 1041252) are required.

Brake discs have always to be changed in pairs for each axle! Only replacing both discs ensures safe and problem free brake functionality. We will not deliver single brake discs.

Service instructions:

When fitting new brake discs the vehicle manufacturer's instructions must be observed!

Basically:

- The contact surface of the wheel hub to the brake disc must be completely clean and free of grease.
- Calipers and pads must be free moving. Neither brake system nor suspension may be excessively worn.
- The wheel bolts or nuts must be evenly tightened crosswise with the specified torque.
