Important information on how to process the seal correctly:

To achieve optimal adhesion, the surfaces must be clean, dry and as smooth as possible, and they must fit well together.

Full-surface contact is crucial for building up the adhesive strength. Contact is promoted by pressure. In practice, a pressure of around 10 to 50 N/cm² is often required, and bonding should take place at a temperature of 18°C ​​to 40°C. In addition, all joining partners and the adhesive tape must be at the same temperature as far as possible when processing.

Note:
The adhesive strength increases over time. After about 24 hours the tape has reached its full adhesive strength.


Caution: The seal is self-adhesive, there is only one mounting attempt! If mounted incorrectly, the seal is too long. There are no fixed reference points on the tailgate. Measure the exact positioning of the old seal in advance to have reference points for installation.

The seal is staggered to the outside, the short outer sealing lip has a overhang of approx. 5mm all around.

There are 3 reinforced areas in the seal for the connecting seam and the lower corners of the tailgate. You can feel these in the sealing profile.

Start gluing the seal at the bottom edge of the tailgate. The reinforced connecting seam of the seal should be located centrally above the tailgate lock.

Work your way over the reinforced lower corners to the top of the tailgate, finish gluing at the top in the middle. Here you can compensate smaller differences in length by varying the distance to the 3rd brake light.
