Door seals for Volvo 140, 164 and 200

New door seals for Volvo 140, 164 and 200 are available again.
A door seal in a car has to withstand and perform a number of tasks during its service life. It should provide a permanent seal against drafts, water and noise. At the same time, it is exposed to strong temperature fluctuations, dirt and, from time to time, sunlight. If neglected, the door seal tends to freeze in winter. If an impatient person then pulls on the frozen door, the seal, which is past a certain age, no longer finds this so great and tends to crack. However, this will occur after twenty years of careless care anyway.
Now, most Volvo 140, 164, 240 and 260 models are so old that they hardly have the first door seals anyway. At least on the driver's side, which is known to be the most strained by the most frequent door openings.
As a result of demand and the long service life of the vehicles, most seals have been out of stock at the vehicle manufacturer for several years.
Because demand remains as high as ever, we have decided to have all the necessary door seals reproduced. We have already tested the first samples, and they fit tightly in their seat and seal reliably.
The door seals for all two-, four- and five-door vehicles are now available in our shop at the numbers below.
Finally, another tip from our own experience: it is common knowledge that seals treated with talcum, Vaseline, silicone spray or other care products do not freeze solid. However, you should clean them thoroughly before applying the care product so as not to trap dirt. Over the years, dirt can work its way through the paintwork and cause corrosion. Before installing new seals, the guides underneath should also be thoroughly cleaned to avoid rusting. A seal always rubs something in its seat.
