Bake your Xmas cookies... ready... set... GO!

29.11.2020

It's that time of year again, the Advent season and thus Christmas is just around the corner.
And what must not be missing during this time under any circumstances? ...EXACTLY! The baking of biscuits.

For all fans of cars and swedish culture we have our super biscuit cutter, the limousine, the station wagon, the moose head and the spanner in our assortment. This makes baking four times as much fun.

Baking for everyone, here is our very simple and delicious biscuit recipe.

Dough ingredients: (for approx. 3 trays)

  • 125g butter
  • 200g flour (plus some flour for the rolling pin and the work surface)
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg

Ingredients decoration:
For the decoration of the biscuits we used icing sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder, nut nougat cream as well as sugar writing and sugar decorations. Allowed is what pleases and tastes natural!

Tip: For our biscuit version we used wholemeal spelt flour, healthier than wheat flour but very tasty.

It's as simple as that:

Step 1 - Dough

Knead the butter, flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and the egg together to form an even dough.
Place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Step 2 - Preparation

Line a tray with baking paper and preheat the oven to 160 degrees convection. Sprinkle the work surface generously with additional flour and rub the rolling pin to prevent the dough from sticking. Put the cookie cutters ready.

Step 3 - Roll out and cut out

Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it out on the flour surface using the rolling pin, not too thin.
Cut out the biscuits as you like until the dough is completely covered.

Step 4 - Baking

Place the biscuits directly on the baking tray and place in the oven for 7 to 10 minutes per tray. After baking, allow all biscuits to cool completely.

Step 5 - Decorate

The last step is the decoration. Whether funny moose faces, crass colourful paint for the cars or just lots of great sprinkles on the biscuits is up to you. We would be happy to receive some photos from you and if you like, link us on Instagram and co.

We wish you all a wonderful Advent and Christmas season.
The SKANDIX team wishes you happy baking.
