Volvo 200

17.07.2023

How to replace the rubber bearings for the blower motor at the Volvo 240, 260 without AC.

Item 1068699: Rubber- bearing blower.

Heater housing, already disassembled from the car.

Remve the clips at the top..

... and at the bottom of the heater housing, you can use a screwdriver.

Separate the halves of the housing.

Take out the blower motor together with the holder.

Pull the rubber bearings off the holder or cut them off.

There are three rubber mounts in total that hold the motor in its mount and decouple it.

Old rubber bearing.

Holder and blower motor ready disassembled.

To fasten the blower motor, guide the new rubber mount through the hole on the motor side. This can be very tedious, warm temperatures and plenty of silicone grease make installation easier.

The plastic discs are either pressed under the head of the rubber mount before assembly or they are cut once and then pushed into its position at the motor side. In this case, the use of silicone spray or grease is also advisable.

Now carefully pull the rubber bearings through the holder. If you pull too hard, the rubber can tear.
The heater box can now be reassembled and installed.
