After such an incident with the convertible top, the flap is likely to look like this: The cover itself breaks off the hinge nearly always at the same place.

Now the breaking point has to be cut off. This has to be done clean and smooth, so you can insert the repair piece properly. It should look like this picture (more or less, one millimeter is not important), when you finished cutting off the remains.

Before you apply the glue, check the fit and clean bonding surface. There should not be any residues of grease or silicone, otherwise the best glue will not stick! We recommend brake cleaner or silicone remover.

This picture is an illustration how the repair part has to be glued into the cover. Give the glue enough time to dry completely, be patient!

When the glue is dry, the flap can be put back into position and the square shaft has to be put back in into the right position.

Now the flap with its support and linkage has to be put back in its place and the shaft has to be pushed back in simultaneously. This has to be done when the top cover is open.

Press the holding clasp back onto the shaft.

Check the position one more time.

Now tighten the screws.

Now position the flap latch and tighten the screws.

Make a final visual inspection. If you have the TechII diagnosis device, you can control the flap individually.

Now you can check if the flap is operating correctly, while you open and close the convertible top. Make sure the flap is closing properly and opening far enough, so an error-free operation is ensured. Be careful while checking! If the top is jamming for mechanic reasons, the cause has to be found to prevent future damage.
