With the Saab 96, there are repeatedly problems with the assembly of the clutch. Sometimes this is caused by the narrow space in the clutch bell, sometimes the lever or flywheel is worn, sometimes it is simply badly adjusted.Another problem can occur during the assembly of our new claw clutch as a result of some of these problems: The pressure plate housing pushes on the torsion springs of the clutch plate after assembly. This should definitely be checked during assembly before installing the engine. In such a case, the easiest way is to turn out the pressure plate housing inside to a clearance of 2-3mm above the torsion springs. Approximately as marked in red in the picture above.Turning out the housing does not affect the durability or function of the clutch.
