6V alternator conversion kit
02.05.2024Installation instructions for fitting the new 6V alternator for Volvo Amazon and Volvo PV with B16 engine.
Our alternator for B16 is supplied with upper and lower mounting bracket and matching tensioning arm. Fit the upper bracket to the two mounting holes on the passenger side of the thermostat housing using the slightly longer screws supplied. The tensioning arm is mounted to this bracket using an M8 screw and the enclosed spacer sleeve.
Remove the lower, original mounting bracket from the old alternator and fit the enclosed lower bracket in its place using the original fastening material. The original mounting material for the bracket consists of six rubber bearings 1030698, three sleeves 1031453, three screws 1011135 and three washers 1031576. You can now loosely screw on the alternator between the lower bracket and tensioning arm and fit and tension the V-belt.
Connect the cable from the charging indicator light to terminal R,
Terminal F with the ignition +...
...and the BAT terminal with the permanent power supply to the battery.
