In earlier model years, the third brake light was mounted using a total of four mounting points: three screws and one clip.

Due to subsequent replacements, the clip mounting was discontinued. According to official manufacturer specifications, the mounting point in the tailgate should be cleaned and sealed. Isopropanol and sealant part number 1072436 are recommended for this purpose. The sealant should be cut to 20 x 15 mm before installation.
