This modern, user-friendly relay interface allows you to tap into the high-beam signal of contemporary vehicles to control LED light bars or auxiliary LED driving lights from Ledson. This solution eliminates the need for time-consuming troubleshooting within the CAN-bus wiring, routing cables through the vehicle interior, or passing wires through the firewall.
How is this set installed?
Installation is performed by plugging a compact transmitter unit (the XBB Dongle) into the vehicle’s diagnostic port (OBD port). When the high beams are activated, the dongle detects the signal and transmits it via Bluetooth to the relay (the XBB Power Unit), which then triggers the LED light bar or auxiliary lights. The Power Unit is integrated into the included wiring harness, which is mounted in the engine bay near the battery. The harness connects to the positive battery terminal and to a ground point; it also features a DT connector that links to the LED light bar or auxiliary lights. This completes the electrical installation—no modifications to the vehicle’s original wiring or the CAN-bus system are required.
Once installed, the corresponding software is downloaded to your smartphone. All settings can be conveniently configured via the app (currently available for Android via Google Play; an iOS version is in development).
Each Power Unit features two separate, fully programmable outputs. For example, you can connect LED light bars or auxiliary lights to one output, while using the other for position lights. A single dongle can control up to four Power Units (relay units). NOTE: The maximum load capacity is 15 A for the output used for LED light bars/auxiliary lights (Output 1) and a maximum of 5 A for the output used for position lights (Output 2).
