Service instructions:

Lightly coat the metal fitting of the shaft sealing ring with a suitable sealant (e.g. 1002950 or 1013242) before inserting it.

When driving the shaft sealing ring into the differential housing, make sure that the spring ring of the sealing lip does not slip from the retaining lip into the final drive. Otherwise push the spring ring back onto the shaft sealing ring using a suitable tool.
