On the M56 gearbox, the release bearing and clutch slave cylinder are one unit and must be replaced when the clutch is changed!
At Volvo there are special tools for the installation of the clutches, which should be used to avoid distortion and subsequent clutch ripping. (1011436, 1011437) When fitting without these tools, there is a very high risk that the new clutch will pick. In this case no complaints can be accepted!

Clutch discs for dual-mass flywheels do not normally have a rear damper. They can therefore bend particularly easily if the gearbox is not installed carefully. The disc then no longer runs flat, but wobbles. The clutch no longer separates properly or plucks. It is therefore very important that the gearbox is mounted straight!
