Wear of oil dipsticks

01.04.2022

When did this happen to you last? No more oil to be seen on the dipstick!
An often overlooked cause is the fact that the dipstick can get shorter over time.

One of the main reasons of dipsticks getting shorter and shorter is simply wear and tear over the years. Especially when cornering frequently, the engine oil sloshes against the dipstick with full force. There, sharp metal chips, which are produced by the abrasion of the pistons, act on the lower end of the dipstick. This can even go so far that the dipstick can no longer reach the oil. Therefore, we advise replacing the dipstick regularly.

Tip:
Check the length of your dipstick by regularly looking at the oil. If the upper part of the dipstick is barely covered with oil, it is high time to act: Change the dipstick!

You can find the right items in our shop: Category: Oil Dipstick

PS: Did you notice our April Fool's joke?
Of course you can order the item regularly from us, see below. But please check the level of the engine oil first instead of the length of the dipstick.
