Upper shock absorber bushes for Saab 900 (-1993)

20.12.2024

The two rubber bushings of the free-standing shock absorber with a thread on the piston are hardly known today in times of elaborately shaped strut mountings. Yet until the 90s, the bushes were installed in almost every car with this damper attachment, provided that no ball bearing was required as with the MacPherson struts. This type of attachment was frequently used in vehicles with double wishbone wheel suspensions.

If these rubber bushings are hard and porous or have completely “disappeared”, this can lead to more or less loud rumbling noises. Often, the damper function is no longer provided for a short distance because the damper piston moves up and down in its upper mounting before it is pushed or pulled.

This is not only unpleasant, but also dangerous. On a bumpy road, the wheel can quickly lose contact with the ground, causing the vehicle to oscillate and skid in curves.

Since we have no longer been able to get these bushings as original parts for some time, we have taken production into our own hands and had the bushings manufactured according to the original design.

So that your Saab 900 can continue to run safely and quietly in the future, the upper shock absorber bushings are now available again in our webshop at 1032269.

Suitable for the following vehicles:

  • Saab 900 (-93): all models
