Screw speedo drive M40/M41

23.12.2022

The retaining screw for the speedometer drive of the M40 and M41 gearboxes is available again.

The speedometer pinion on PV, Amazon, P1800 and 140 runs in a bearing bush in the rear gearbox cover, which is held in position by a special screw turned off at the front. The screw and the threads in the cover are often destroyed during gearbox repairs or sealing. The thread length of the screw and cover is quite short, so this can happen quickly.

That's why we had them remanufactured, because this has happened to us too. Not everyone has the right inch screw and a lathe immediately to hand.

To be on the safe side, the screw should be used with liquid thread sealant in addition to the copper ring. So that the torque does not have to be overstrained for sealing and the cover also remains intact.

The retaining screw is now available in our shop under the number 1057667.
