Repair sheets Volvo 480

The Volvo 480 often rusts in the rear fender / wheel arch, as well as in the transition from the sill to the wheel arch. At Volvo repair plates for these areas were never available. Therefore SKANDIX has now produced these spare parts. The quality of the parts corresponds to the standard of original parts. The original parts of a stainless steel body were used to create the moulds. The offered plates are therefore not plates to weld on, but plates to fit into the body. The material used is high quality body sheet metal and coated with a primer for conservation. The sheets are not galvanized, so that they can be welded easily.

In retrospect we show the most important stages here.

At this point we would like to thank the German Volvo 480 Club once again for their support in this SKANDIX project and for providing the bodywork.

24.04.2013 - The bodyshell is picked up

After a long winter break, our supplier and sheet metal producer has today picked up the bodyshell of a Volvo 480 from us. Now nothing should stand in the way of the start of production of new repair sheets for the 400.

16.09.2013 - Taking measurements on the bodywork

The "Wheel arch Volvo 480" project is now nearing completion. Production of the plates is planned for October.

There will be three plates with which each Volvo 480 can be restored to a new condition:

• side wall outside
• wheel run inside
• sill trim inside

Here are some pictures of the work on the sample body. The finished panels will then exactly match the original body.

09/26/23 - The samples are in!

The first samples of the repair sheets arrived today. This weekend - on September 28th and 29th - the plates can be admired "live" for the first time at the "VOLVO Klassieker Beurs" in Rosmalen in the Netherlands.

The plates can be ordered in advance from our webshop, but they will not be shipped until the end of October, when production is completed.
