Pivot pin for Clutch fork for Volvo 200, 700 and 900

17.05.2024

The clutch release fork is mounted on the pivot pin. When the pedal is pressed, this pushes the release bearing forwards against the springs of the pressure plate and thus disengages the clutch. Anyone who has ever tried to operate a disassembled clutch knows what forces are required to do so.

It is easy to understand why thousands of such operations cause a certain amount of wear on the release mechanism.

The release fork often rubs through at the bearing or tears next to the release bearing, the plastic ball socket is worn through at some point The pivot pin then works its way through the fork and is destroyed in the process.

Of course, this damage only occurs very rarely; it is usually simply due to the astronomical mileage achieved by our Volvo 200 or 900 series. The handling of the clutch also plays a major role in the service life of all its components.

When the torsion pin for the release fork of the Volvo 200 and 900 from 1993 onwards was recently no longer available from the vehicle manufacturer, we reacted immediately and ordered a reproduction based on the original sample.

This meant that the pivot pin was always available and no Volvo had to stay in the garage because of this important small part.

The pivot pin is now available in our store under item number 1019214.
