Optimised bumper brackets for Volvo P1800S/E/ES

Sometimes it's the little things that make a solid product an even better product.
With the latest production batch, which is immediately available from stock, we have improved the details of the front and rear bumper brackets. In contrast to the original, the elongated holes for mounting the bumper are a few millimetres larger, so that you have more space to align the bumper. Furthermore, the parts now have a powder coating, which offers good corrosion protection and an attractive finish.
In the following, we show how the prototypes were installed together with original bumpers and the SKANDIX stainless steel bumpers for testing before the production release.

This shows the importance of widening the holes. In the pictures you can see a poor fit, both with the right rear panel cut-out and the distance to the mudguard. Now this is not due to the brackets or the bumper, but to the poor bodywork of the test vehicle. In our case, a filler layer of around 15 mm had been applied!

Note: Even a body, no matter how good looking and well painted, can deviate significantly from the original dimension due to accidents and repairs!
The newly produced front and rear brackets are now even better:
- cut by laser
- Larger mounting holes for easier alignment/mounting
- powder-coated for better durability
