New ball socket for the release fork bearing for Volvo 850, S70, V70 I

24.03.2023

The ball socket for the release fork (1023074) in the Volvo 850 and S70/V70 first series is available again.

This ball socket is the bearing of the release fork on the pin (1023075) pressed into the gearbox bell housing. It ensures reduced friction between the two parts; if it is missing, the clutch travel is no longer correct. It is indispensable for the proper functioning of the clutch and is usually worn out or broken after the service life of a clutch.

The ball socket should always be replaced when the clutch is changed, even if it still appears to be reasonably intact.

It was like in most cases before, the inconspicuous but very important small part for the clutch actuation was suddenly no longer available from the vehicle manufacturer.

Due to the sales figures and unchanged demand, we of course reacted immediately and ordered a reproduction, not only because we drive some of these cars ourselves. Despite being well over 20 years old, they are still a common sight on everyday roads. It would be a shame if such a long-lived vehicle was condemned to stand around because of a small part.

The ball socket is now available in our shop under the item number 1023076.

Fits vehicles with manual transmission:

  • Volvo 850
  • Volvo S70, V70 (-1997)
