Metal Heater Control Valve for Volvo 200
21.05.2018Until about 1990, new cars in the Volvo 200 series were equipped with a metal heater control valve. After that, the car manufacturer replaced the metal valve with a plastic valve. If you wanted to buy an original replacement valve, from then on you got a conversion kit consisting of a plastic valve and hoses.
SKANDIX has reissued the original metal valve. It fits all models without air conditioning, i.e. also vehicles that have already been converted to a plastic valve. The heating control valve is a new part, manufactured from copper and galvanised steel according to the original sample. It corresponds to the original Volvo part 3522209.
In contrast to the original plastic valve, the metal valve has an emergency shut-off with capillary tube sensor, which is installed on the heat exchanger. The valve closes automatically when the heat exchanger overheats.
You can order the metal heating control valve under article no. 1061998 in our online shop.
The conversion instructions for the plastic valve (1001871) can simply be used in reverse order.
Advantages:
- In contrast to the plastic valve, no leaks can occur at the valve shaft or at the seam of the plastic halves due to the different design
- Proven technology, metal valves were already used in the 50s on the Humpback Volvo
- Valve with emergency shut-off
