Lower Control Arm Bushing for Saab 9000

18.09.2026

On the Saab 9000, the rear suspension control arms are mounted in a bushing on the vehicle floor. This bushing is, in turn, pressed into an aluminum bracket that is bolted to the body.

Although the bracket itself does not rust, the material becomes a problem once the bushing reaches a certain age: The outer sleeve of the bushing rusts, and the rust literally eats into the aluminum bracket.

In the worst-case scenario, the bracket will eventually crack. More often than not, however, you can’t remove the bushing from it without causing significant damage.

The vehicle manufacturer was likely already aware of this at the time; in any case, Saab never offered this bushing separately without the bracket. It would also be dangerous to install a new bushing into a flared bracket. Either it won’t hold at all, or there’s a risk that the bushing will slip out of its seat.

Since we’ve been aware of this problem for quite some time and none of our suppliers could provide the bracket with bushing in adequate quality anymore, we decided on the spot to have the part manufactured ourselves.

This ensures straight-line stability and an intact suspension for your Saab 9000 in the future: The brackets for the rear axle’s lower control arm suspension are now available in our shop under part number 1003575.
