New solution for charge air pipe and intake silencer
The charge air pipe and the intake silencer can occasionally cause annoyance in the diesel engines in the S60, V70, XC70 and XC90 after a certain age. The intake silencer, which is not really necessary, occasionally breaks and the fastening straps on the charge air pipe often break off with age, causing it to rattle around unsteadily under the engine.
Of course, the latter is not without consequences: the charge air pipe usually snaps at some point, and sometimes the intake silencer also snaps at the connection to the pipe. The result of this is often a stall, with luck the car is “only” in emergency mode without power. Normal forward motion is impossible in any case with a cracked charge air pipe.
These parts were previously only available as a complete charge air pipe from the vehicle manufacturer.
We have now had the charge air pipe reproduced. As a replacement for the intake silencer, there is also a charge air hose, which was also originally available for other D5 engines. The omission of the intake silencer is acoustically imperceptible and the pipe is less susceptible to damage.
Our kit is complete with all the necessary assembly material for the charge air pipe, so that nothing else needs to be found for a replacement.
The new set is also significantly cheaper than the original charge air pipe and is now available in our store under the number 1098207.
