Flat belt tensioner set for Volvo 960, S90 and V90

In the late Volvo 960 from 1995 and S90/V90 up to 1998, the timing belt is 28 mm wide for longer intervals and greater durability.

As a result, the ribbed belt drive had to move further outwards compared to the older versions with a timing belt width of 21 or 23 mm. Unlike the earlier versions, however, this ribbed belt drive or individual parts of it were not used in the five-cylinder engines in the 850 and S/V70. This makes some spare parts for these last longitudinally installed six-cylinder engines real rarities.

For example, not a single manufacturer has been supplying the matching ribbed belt tensioner for several years. Although there were and still are suitable rollers, the tensioners themselves sometimes break. This usually results in unpleasant noises when the load changes, because the belt is constantly fluttering. The belt itself doesn't usually withstand the loads for very long either.

So we thought about it, checked it and measured it.

The result is a tensioner that is fitted with two adapter pulleys under the support points and thus reliably replaces the original part, which is no longer available.

The flat belt tensioner is supplied by us as a complete set with the necessary fastening screws and is now available in the store under the number 1098735.
