Conversion kit to LED bulbs for Volvo V40

As was the case last year for many older Volvo models, there is now also a general operating permit (ABG) for the use of Osram Night Breaker LEDs in the V40 from 2013 onwards. The ABG applies to all vehicles with H7 low beam headlights and the original headlights.
From our own experience, converting to LED bulbs is definitely worthwhile, as they are significantly brighter and provide much better visibility. Especially now in the dark season, driving with brighter lights is less tiring, partly because the potentially bright lights of oncoming traffic are far less distracting.
The E-mark of the headlight is decisive for the ABG; aftermarket headlights are still excluded from this.
Headlights from different manufacturers have different light patterns, even if they look identical. For this reason, each headlight must be tested individually for approval.
However, the Osram NIGHT BREAKER LED W5W (1094791) causes an error in the V40, so the LEDriving Canbus Control Unit 1107038 must be connected to the headlight in parallel with the bulb. This control unit simulates the power consumption of the original W5W bulb to the Canbus, and the error disappears. This is not yet mentioned in Osram's approval list.
The conversion is quite simple, especially with the V40 with its easily removable headlights, and can be done in just over half an hour.
The headlight settings should be checked and possibly corrected after installation, as this is often necessary due to the slightly different bulb geometry.
