Blending discs for the cardan shaft center bearings for many Volvo classics

07.11.2025

The blending discs serve a very practical purpose on the cardan shaft centre bearing: they are designed to protect the encapsulated bearing from contamination and damage.

The sealing discs, which are pressed onto the cardan shaft in front of and behind the bearing with a precise fit, fulfil this purpose perfectly. In our experience, the centre bearing itself is rarely actually defective; in most cases, the suspension is simply porous or becomes detached from the retaining cage due to rusting.

Admittedly, relatively little road dirt accumulates on the cardan shaft, but even a sharp-edged stone would be enough to cause damage to the bearing encapsulation. It is therefore highly recommended to replace these together with the cardan shaft centre bearing. Because one thing always applies to bearings: if the lubrication disappears and dirt gets in, it won't last long.

Unfortunately, some of the blending discs are no longer available from the vehicle manufacturer. We took this as an opportunity to have several of them reproduced.

Our reproduction is electro-galvanised like the original and corresponds precisely to it in terms of dimensions.

The blending discs are now available under the numbers 1101393, 1101390 and 1018605 in our shop.
