Absorber Bonnet for Volvo V70 I, S70, V70XC and C70

Sound insulation under the hood of a car has become standard in most models over the last forty to fifty years.
Initially, it was mainly reserved for noisy pre-combustion and swirl chamber diesel engines, but developers soon realized that gasoline engines could also be made a bit quieter with such an insulation mat.
Meanwhile, the lack of insulation has become a defect in the main inspection due to the ever stricter emission requirements.
Unfortunately, the insulation mats do not last forever and suffer from heat and oil mist. Often, after twenty-five years, they tend to be a bit brittle.
However, the most common cause of damage is small, unwelcome predators that like to take a look around the warm engine compartment at night and nibble on fabrics, cables and rubber parts. If a marten scents unwelcome competitors that have previously visited the engine compartment, it will get particularly angry and take apart a lot of stuff.
Any insulation shredded by a marten should be removed from the vehicle quickly. Although normally flame-retardant, loose shreds of insulation on particularly hot parts such as the turbocharger are a definite risk.
For the robust V70, S70, V70XC (-00) and C70 (-05), the original bonnet insulation mats, which were fitted as standard at the time, have not been available from the vehicle manufacturer for some time. Since the range of products available on the second-hand market is now also becoming increasingly limited, we have decided to have self-adhesive bonnet insulation produced for these vehicles as well.
We have been offering these self-adhesive insulation parts for some time for older Volvo models. They are easy to fit and have proven to provide good noise insulation and durability.
