40 Years Volvo Club de France

From 03.06. to 04.06.2023, the Volvo Club de France celebrated its 40th anniversary in a big way. SKANDIX also received an invitation to the anniversary and our French customer consultant Alain made his way to France.
After checking into the hotel, we immediately went to the La Ferte-Gaucher race track to set up the SKANDIX stand. The welcome by the Volvo Club members was very warm. After the set-up was done, a chat was held and then dinner was eaten together (note: it was a very short night).
The event started on 03.06.23 at 8:00 am in sunshine and 26°C. Volvo Club members and guests drove up in their Volvos at short intervals, so that the car park was finally well occupied. News was exchanged with music and good humour, then it was time to hit the track. The crowd was accordingly large. The "racers" had the opportunity to test the track several times. This was also well received. Philippe, a driver in a green 142 Volvo converted into a racing car with SKANDIX stickers and racing gear, gave "real chain". He races the Volvo all over France.
Food and drink were also provided. There was a wide choice of savoury and sweet finger food. The SKANDIX stand, where a small selection of spare parts novelties was presented, was well received. At 6 p.m. it was time to dismantle and pack up. Then it was time for the social part with good food and drink. At the beginning, Xavier Bourbon from the Volvo Club de France gave a speech. The sponsors and helpers were thanked and members were honoured in different categories (Note: It was again a very short night).
On Sunday around 9:00 am, culture was on the agenda. The sights of the medieval town of Provins were visited. Provins is located an hour from Paris and is one of the best preserved medieval towns in France. Every street corner is a reminder of the splendid times of the Counts of Champagne. Provins was one of the most important trans-shipment centres for goods in Europe. Clothiers from Flanders, spice traders from the Orient, poets and intellectuals met there.
Afterwards, we had lunch together and exchanged views until the end of the event. At around 2:30 p.m., the group disbanded and Alain headed back to Germany.
