22.12.2021The Electronic kit replaces the existing points and condensor with a NEW reliable Electronic Module. The Electonic Ignition Module has been developed to work with the standard Ignition Coil and provides service free and accurate ignition timing. The kit can be easily fitted to standard points type Distributors without having to fit a new electronic ignition coil.
With the lgnition switched OFF:
- Remove the Distributor Cap with leads and put aside.
- Remove the old Rotor arm and put aside.
- Remove and discard the Contact Points and Condensor and wire, and retain the fixing screws.
- Fit the new Ignition module to the base plate using the old fixing screws, (Note the locating peg on the base plate) and tighten the screws firmly for good heat distribution.
- Insert the black rubber plug in the body slot and check there is sufficient slack in the wires inside the distributor to leave the base plate free to rotate.
- Fit the NEW black Trigger, ensuring it is aligned with the top of the spindle lobes and push home fully, being careful not to use too much force.
- Refit the Rotor arm fully on the shaft with the locating tag, if the cap and clips do not fit correctly - the trigger and/or the rotor arm are not fitted correctly!
- Connect the red wire to the positive terminal of the coil and the other wire to the negative.
- Refit the Distributor Cap, do not force the clips, check the cap fits snugly before starting the engine.
- Check the Ignition Timing and adjust where necessary to gain best performance.
