09.12.2021The Condition of Single-use Air Filters at Vintage Volvos is not easy to inspect. Not everything that looks good is still good!
This is the Engine bay of a Volvo PV544 with B18A Engine.
The Single-use Air Filter for the Zenith 36 Carburettor looks still good from the outside, milage unknown. Even with disassambled Air Filter the inner ring looked passable.
But appearances are deceptive! The Air Filter insert is completely dirty and not usable. We destroyed the housing of the Single-Use Air Filter for this picture.
That`s why you should obey Volvos change interval!
A dirty Air Filter lets the Engine hardly breath, the mixture gets richer. That causes a bad running engine, soot formation and high consumption.
New Air Filter for Zenith 36 Single Carburettor. Skandix item 1000785.
The Air filter is supplied with brackets and has a label which reminds on the change interval.
