If the seal moulding at the door window of a volvo Amazon is old and wasted it can be folding down when you open the window. The window winder is rough-running because of the hard rubber, it is also harder stressed.
If the seal moulding isn`t lying against the window, water will come into the door. In the worst case the seal moulding will fly away.
Therefore we have two versions in our delievery program:
The rubber-only sealing strip which was standard and original mounted.
We also have an improved comfortable version with flock coating on the side which faces the window.
Therefore the window winder is easier to handle, the seal moulding is sliding smooth to the window.

For Mounting it first open the window completely. Then pick the moulding on one end at the outside and pull it out of its channel.

When the seal moulding is dismantled, you have to carefully inspect the channel. Definitly you have to clean the channel. If there is rust in it, you should remove it now.
Before mounting the new moulding, the channel should be clean and free of grease or rust.
Preservative grease is not the right thing on this place, the rubber would react with bulging. If the grease gets in the flock coating you would always have a dirty window.
The only thing you can use as a lubricant for the mounting is silicone spray.
It is not necessary!

The seal moulding will be delivered in an excess length. You have to mount it as delivered, spread the excess length evenly over the whole distance.
Now pull the seal moulding from one end on with the round bead into the channel. Use your your thumb and pull every milimeter carefully.
Meanwhile press the mounted part together with your other hand for compressing the excess length.
If the moulding forms bulbs you have to massage it away to the left and right side.
When the moulding is mounted completely, use your window winder a few times. So you can control the fitting of it.
Now your door windows are close for many years.
