23.11.2021

Replacement rubber strip for the not longer available lower trim moulding of the rear side window. Originally the rubber strip was glued to the trim moulding but the rubber shrinks through the years. Here we´ll show you how to fix it.

Original trim with rubber.

Repair part, rubber strip 1048634.

Remove the trim moulding from the car. Be careful, it can be bend easily.

You can use SKANDIX item number 1049379 or 1020365.

Strip off the rubber.

Clean the surface of the trim moulding. And prepare it according to the instructions of the adhesive manufacturer.

You can use silicone remover SKANDIX item number 1023003.

Glue the new rubber strip on.

We recommend Innotec Adheseal, SKANDIX item number 1039424. Compared to super glue Adheseal offers a time window for corrections befor it is set. Use some clamps to fix the rupper during cure time.

When the adhesive is hardened you can cut the notches for the clips.

Replace broken clips. For one trim moulding you will need 1 x 120787 and 4 x 1020780.

Put the trim moulding straight on and press it down carefully until the clips snap in.

Finished. If all steps have been done correctly the new rubber strip should fit tight to the window.
