Unscrew the cover of the gear position switch.
Pry off the protective cover using a screwdriver.
Unscrew the ground cable at the top of the switch.
Now you can remove the cover.
Now you have access to the contacts that have to be replaced.
Replace the old contacts by the new ones from the repair kit.
Clean the slide strip and the sealing surface before assembly.
