Repair button seat belt buckle

23.11.2021Note on fitting a new seat belt buckle button on the Volvo 700 / 900 with mechanical seat belt tensioner.
Broken button
The belt tensioner must be disarmed according to the manufacturer`s instructions before the button is replaced! The procedure is explained in the operating instructions (on-board folder).
Unlock the side retaining lugs of the button with a small screwdriver and remove the broken button. There is a small spiral spring under the button, make sure it does not get lost.
The new button is placed straight on from above and pressed down until it clicks into place.
Done!
Do not forget to reactivate the belt tensioner!
