Licence Plate Lamp

10.12.2021Here we will show a quick and easy way to replace the old fashioned licence plate lamp by a modern LED type.

Preparation: Remove the gasket from the new lamp. It is not needed because there´s already a gasket in the tailgate.
Comparison of old (left) and new LED (right) lamp.
Remove the screws. Needed tool: screwdriver with a Torx 20 bit.
Carefully remove the old lamp using a small screwdriver.
Remove the bulb from the socket....
...and replace it by the LED unit.
Fix the LED unit to the housing.
Push back the wires into the tailgate and put the lamp in place. Tighten the screw. Finished!
