Interior panel A-pillar

Volvo V70 P26, XC70 (2001-2007)

31.07.2025

In our example, the interior trim of the A-pillar on a Volvo V70 (P26) had come loose. Likely due to frequent removal and age-related wear, the retaining clips no longer held properly - some were broken, others worn out, and unable to secure the panel. As a result, the trim was only partially attached to the A-pillar.

In the following installation guide, we demonstrate how to replace the damaged clips and properly reattach the interior trim.

Pull the interior trim straight toward the vehicle interior. If it is still stuck, it can be carefully loosened using the lever tool (1049379).

With the help of a small flathead screwdriver, the clip can be removed from the interior trim.

To remove, turn the upper clip (1041637) of the trim 90 degrees counterclockwise using a flathead screwdriver or pliers.

This makes it easy to remove the clip.

In this image, we show the recess for the clip again.

The new clip (1041637) is now black and no longer needs to be rotated 90 degrees, it is simply clipped into the old hole.

The clip (1022354) in the middle of the interior trim will also be replaced at the same time.

This is simply inserted into the recess from below.

Before reinstalling the interior trim, it must be pushed under the seal.

Afterwards, the cover can simply be clipped back into place.
