How to replace the headlight trim moulding

22.12.2021Manual for replacing the Volvo 240 upper headlight trim from 1968 on. The shown car is a late 1993 Volvo 245 Diesel wagon. This Manual also is useful if the headlights or the indicators are to be replaced.
Unlock the two upper radiator grill bayonett clips by a 180° turn.
Pull out the clips and take them aside.
Tilt the grill and pull it upwards out off the lower fixation points. Take the grill aside.
Unscrew the three headlight nuts.
Use a small ratched (Wrench size 10) and an extension.
After unscrewing the nuts you can pull out the headlight forwards so far, that you can reach the trim screws. If present, fold up the headlight wiper. It is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connection.
Hold the headlamp and replace the trim.
Compare old and new trim.
