Drip rail moulding
Volvo P1800
22.12.2021The fitting of the drip rail moulding is a bit tricky and it needs some experience to receive a good result. Never use and tool or don`t even hit the aluminum mould with your hand. The mould will get damaged right away!
First thing to do is to check the thickness of the car paint. The installation will not work if its to thick! If so, you have to grind down the layers of filler and paint until you will receive a very thin layer of paint only!
Check the length of the new moulding on the car!
Its possible that the new moulding is to long for your car.
Mark the part which is to long.
Cut it off.
grind the edge
Don`t forget to put on the connector moulding
Clean the surface
We have chosen transparent grease
Lube the drip edge
Start frm the rear end
The moulding is to be pushed onto the rim pushing upwards. You work yourself forward from the rear to the front!
Check if the trim moulding is everywhere well positioned
This is the way it should look like
Finally push back the connector moulding
